Se analiza el itinerario de Courtney Letts (Chicago, 1899-New York, 1995) a la luz de las tendencias de la “nueva historia diplomática”, atendiendo a las propuestas actuales para tratar la agencia de las mujeres en el mundo diplomático.
Se centra la atención en las facetas públicas de la trayectoria de Letts: su perfil como escritora y esposa diplomática y como investigadora de historia de la diplomacia en las Américas. Se trata de la primera contribución académica que estudia la trayectoria de una intelectual que ofició como articuladora y mediadora cultural entre dos espacios geográficos —Estados Unidos y Argentina— entre 1930 y mediados de la década de 1970.
