Cet article retrace les débuts de la Jeunesse Étudiante Chrétienne (JEC) au sein
des écoles des Frères des Écoles Chrétiennes au Mexique entre 1961 et 1963.
Dans un premier temps, il relate l’émergence de ce mouvement spécifique d’action
catholique. Il décrit ensuite les principes directeurs sur lesquels s’est constituée
la JEC, inspirée par la pédagogie de La Salle, suivi d’un exposé des stratégies
utilisées pour diffuser et soutenir ces activités. Le texte se termine en décrivant
les premiers pas du district Mexique Nord visant à consolider le travail “jéciste”
sur son territoire.
