Cet article étudie et analyse huit ouvrages rédigés auXVIIIème par des patients,
dont deux par des femmes, provenant de l’Hôpital Nuestra Señora de los Dolores
de la ville de Tezcoco, fondé par l’ordre des Frères de la Charité (Juaninos). Il se
focalise sur trois épidémies importantes qui ont frappé la population locale en
1737 (Matlazahuatl), 1784 (grippe) et 1813 (typhus). Ces manuscrits sont restés
dans l’oubli historiographique mais leur analyse nous offre des informations
essentielles sur l’âge, la provenance et le type de maladie des personnes qui étaient
prises en charge dans un hôpital auXVIIIème.
