Cet article offre un premier approchement à une institution clé dans la fiscalité
pendant la période coloniale : les Caisses Royales. La Caisse Royal de Valladolid
est une institution oubliée dans l’historiographie du Michoacán, et bien qu’on ait
fait des études sur l’Intendance du Valladolid et les Réformes des Borbons, on n’a
pas eu assez d’intérêt à cette institution fiscal qui a eu une vie courte, mais
importante pendant les dernières décades du Michoacán colonial. Le but de l’article,
c’est de faire connaître quand et comment elle a été fondée, ses fonctionnaires, ses
compétences, et ainsi, la manière comment les conflits avec les différents institutions
et les autorités du Michoacán ont apparus.
