En el presente artículo se realiza una relectura de las tres principales fuentes escritas sobre el incendio mayor de Paracho, Michoacán, el cual ocurrió durante
la Revolución Mexicana. Estas presentan omisiones y contradicciones respecto a las causas del incendio, los sucesos de aquel día, así como a las actividades
posteriores de los pobladores. Además de someter estas fuentes a una crítica de credibilidad, se aporta información adicional obtenida de fuentes bibliográficas, documentos de archivo y testimonios orales. A través de esto, se intenta dar un primer paso para resolver algunos cabos sueltos respecto a estos hechos y, desde luego, contribuir a la historia regional del final de la etapa armada en la Revolución.
