Este artículo aborda las actividades desarrolladas por la diplomacia cultural estadounidense en el ámbito del cine educativo argentino durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. A partir de un análisis histórico de su desarrollo y su vínculo con los debates pedagógicos contemporáneos, se reconstruyen su extensión e impacto en las redes escolares del país. Asimismo, se presentan indicios que permiten pensar estas prácticas como un antecedente de gran relevancia para el proceso de institucionalización del cine educativo que se daría bajo el peronismo.
