Tenía la costumbre de llamarlo cada cierto tiempo, una vez al mes, cada dos
meses, especialmente después de que su esposa Sára sufriera un derrame
cerebral, motivo por lo cual Gyuszi tenía menos tiempo libre. Debido a esta
causa dejé de visitarlo en Kaposvár, Hungría, algo que hacía con cierta
frecuencia por el interés de compartir un rato con él, de pedir sus consejos
y de reír, ya que con Gyuszi la vida era pura alegría.
El otoño del pasado 2023 fue un periodo de numerosas tareas para mí:
viajé a Brno, Lima, Quito, Bogotá y Szeged para representar a la Universidad
de Pécs en diversas actividades. A mi regreso, en vísperas de Navidad, le
escribí para felicitarle las fiestas. El 27 de diciembre, su hijo Péter me hizo
saber que Gyuszi había muerto el 11 de octubre de 2023 como consecuencia
de un infarto, añadiendo que “siempre pensó en ti con mucho cariño y
amistad”. Ese día regresaba a Pécs de mi viaje por Sudamérica.
