En este trabajo pretendemos abordar las transformaciones que
experimentó una pequeña región ubicada en Charcas, virreinato del
Perú, a partir del descubrimiento y explotación de las minas de plata.
Durante el siglo XVII, especialmente durante las primeras décadas, la
explotación intensiva de las minas de Oruro provocó una
reorganización social, económica y administrativa en la región donde
se encontraba ubicado el asiento minero.
